Scattered reflections on why he wrote, and who he was
Tucked in among the stories, John kept coming back to a few questions: why he wrote at all, what kind of man he thought he was, and how he wanted to be remembered. These pieces didn’t fit neatly into any one volume — they’re not stories so much as him thinking out loud. Gathered here, out of the way but not hidden, the way a person’s private notebook might sit on a shelf.
