A Tribute to David Bowie

Greetings, fellow Stardust travelers! I’m thrilled you’ve landed here on my tribute to the legendary David Bowie. Born and raised in the heart of Southern Illinois, near St. Louis, my journey with Bowie began when I was just a curious 10-year-old. When I heard “Let’s Dance” on the radio, I was hooked, enchanted by the theatrical magic in David’s voice. From that day forward, Bowie’s universe became my obsession, a passion that grew stronger with time.

Although our stars never fully aligned, I did share a brief, whimsical encounter with the man himself during his Reality tour. It was a moment of sheer hilarity and delight that I treasure to this day. Now, I’ve made Boston my home for the past 17 years, where I run a delightful hair salon dedicated to celebrating and taming the beauty of curly hair.

When I’m not creating fabulous curls, you can find me traversing the globe in pursuit of Bowie events, reveling in the spirit of camaraderie and creativity that he inspires. And why “Aladnsane,” you ask? In the early days of IRC chat and the pioneering Bowienet community, my handle was “Aladnsane,” a playful, phonetic nod to Bowie’s iconic album, “Aladdin Sane.” Fun fact: I was born the year this album was released, and Bowie even penned a few songs while touring the Midwest—my stomping grounds—on the Ziggy Stardust bus.
