The Sound + Vision of Bowie: A Bowie Birthday Weekend to Remember
Our annual Sound & Vision of David Bowie show at The Cutting Room is always a highlight — timed around Bowie’s birthday and passing on January 10th — and 2023 was no exception. This year, Kelly Gilroy came in from Chicago and Gina joined us for the first time, making the night feel extra special. Thanks to Kelly, we scored front-row seats, and I found myself right in front of Gerry Leonard — an unforgettable spot for a Bowie devotee like me.
We only made it to one show this time, but it was a blast. I even got up and danced during the performance, and at one point we slipped to the back of the room so we had space to really move when Station to Station kicked in. Afterwards, it was the usual joy of catching up with Donnie, Gail, Henry Hay, and others — part of the extended Bowie family that makes these nights shine. As always, it wasn’t just about the music, but the connections and memories made along the way.
